Race documents
The race documents can be collected either on:
Friday the 7th May 2010 between 1pm and 8pm or on
Saturday the 8th May 2010 between 10 am and 6pm
at the

Race numbers will be issued only upon presentation of your confirmation of registration documents or personal identification documents. Each participant will also be given a clothes´ bag. There will be an accompanying exhibition of sports goods and information along with a pasta-party. Whilst collecting the race documents, you also have the chance to register the kids for the 2km children’s race (registration fee € 2,--) or put your name down for the individual engraving of your finisher’s medal (€ 8,- for adults / € 4,- for kids).
Relay: Each participant has also been given a clothes bag which should be marked in the appropriate field with your starting number and with your team position (1 to 5). Please ensure that the number on the clothes back corresponds exactly to the number on your starting-number: to make sure the bags can be transported from and to the hand-over zones.
Please ensure that you wear the starting number on race-day and that it is in no way altered or tampered with. A transfer or exchange of numbers after the team has been confirmed is not permissable.The relay ‘baton’ will be a ribbon, which is included in the race documents. The ribbon is to be worn over your running-vest and to be passed on to be worn by the next member of your relay-team.
Timekeeping
Timekeeping is obligatory by using Real-Time Champion-Chips only. The chip must be worn on your shoes, otherwise the timekeeping cannot be guaranteed. Distribution of rented chips takes place along with the race documentation – these chips are to be returned behind the finishing-line by 3pm on the day of the race. Those choosing to keep their chips will be deemed to have bought them and charged € 25.—by direct debit. Runners using their own chips must bring the chip with them to the distribution of the race documents. Please check if the correct chip number has been registered!
Relay: Individual times will not be taken; only the total time of each team. The chip must be worn on the shoes of the Finisher.
Start
Please arrive punctually at the start and use public transportation as there are only limited parking spaces available. The Olympic Stadium is open from 8am; entry is via the Osttor (East gate with the Olympic rings).
THE 10 KM, 5X5KM RELAY AND 25KM RACES WILL BE STARTED TOGETHER AT 10AM ON THE OLYMPISCHER PLATZ!
The starting area is divided by fences into starting blocks B1 to B4. The start-runners in the 5x5km relay will start from block B1. Entry is allowed at 9 am at the earliest. Zones are allotted according to the runners’ personal bests and entry to the zones will be controlled by race officials. The starting block is shown on the race-number. The race-number is not transferable; it is to be worn clearly visible on the chest and not to be tampered with in any way. Around the Olympic Stadium there are toilets, showers and places to hand-in your clothes bags, which should be clearly marked with your starting-number in the appropriate field on the bag. No responsibility for lost clothes or bags will be accepted by the organisers.
Start-runners in the 5x5km relay can deposit their clothes-bag at the transporter parked on the Olympic Square near the starting area and marked with the number 1
Children’s run: the 2 km run begins at 10.10 am on the 9th May 2010 on the Olympischer Platz – it finishes in the Olympic Stadium.
TRANSPORT OF CLOTHING TO THE HAND-OVER AREAS AND RETURN TRANSPORT TO THE OLYMPIC STADIUM FOR THE
Each runner is individually responsible for getting to his/her hand-over zone! The starting-numbers are valid on the race-day as tickets for the Berlin transport system in the inner-city areas. The start and the hand-over zones are all in the immediate vicinity of U-Bahn or S-Bahn stations (see the following table).

Each runner can, therefore, easily reach their respective hand-over zone and get back to the finish at the Olympic Stadium. Toilets are positioned at all the hand-over zones.
Transport of the clothes-bags will be provided by the organisers with specially marked cars. The cars will drive from your starting point to the next hand-over zone (the end of your stretch). Please give your clothes-bag (the number on which must correspond to the number on your bib) only to a car which is marked with the number of your position in the team. At the end of your stretch you can reclaim the clothes-bag and return to the Olympic Stadium by public transport. Please note the departure times of the cars (see the transport timetable).

Route
Each kilometre of the route is clearly signposted. At kilometres 5, 10, 15, 20 and 21,095 (half-marathon) you can check your time. Refreshment stations are available at 5, 10, 15 and 20 kilometres. These are 100 to 150 metres long with plenty of space for everyone – please chose an empty table to avoid queuing. Water will be on offer. Please throw the empty cups into the nets on the roadside.
Anyone not having reached the halfway mark after 95 minutes will be requested to retire from the race. These runners will be brought by bus to the Olympic Stadium.
Toilets are positioned at kilometres 5, 10, 15 and 20. If you need medical assistance, please, if possible, try to reach the next refreshment point, where qualified assistance will be available.

Finish
After the finishing-line in Berlin’s Olympic Stadium, you will receive your finisher’s medal. The Finisher in the 5x5k relay receives the medals for the whole relay-team. If you wish and for a small fee, the medal can be engraved. Time-chips must be returned until 3 pm at the appropriately signposted stands. Chip returns are only possible on race-day. To avoid congestion, runners are requested not to return to the finishing area but to leave it as quickly as possible via the Marathon-Steps behind which you can enjoy refreshments (apples, water and beer). Please remember to collect your clothes´ bag from the collection point – this is possible until 3 pm. Changing-rooms, showers and toilets are all available and signposted. Please take care of all your personal belongings and valuables (including your time-chip).
