Children's run
The routing is an approximately 2,5k long track around the Olympischer Platz and through the South Gate into the Olympic Stadium where its finish. It starts - following the main start - at around 10.15 am. Qualified to participate are Children born between 2006 and 2000.
Race documents
The race documents collection will be at our BERLIN LÄUFT - Expo of sports-goods on 4th and 5th of May at:

Race numbers will be issued only upon presentation of your confirmation of registration documents or personal identification documents. Each participant will also be given a clothes' bag for safekeeping the personal clothes at the start-/finishing area. Finisher-Shirts, ordered in advance, can be collected at the exposition area. Besides, and while stocks last there is the possibility to buy a Finisher-Shirt for EUR 20,00.
Whilst collecting the race documents, you also have the chance to register the kids for the 2,5k children's run (registration fee EUR 2,00) for the individual engraving of your finisher's medal (EUR 8,00 for adults/ EUR 4,00 for kids).
Timekeeping
Timekeeping for the 25k, 10k and the 5x5k relay is obligatory by using the Champion-Chip only. You can either use your own chip, rent (EUR 6,00) or buy (EUR 31,00) it with your registration.
The chip must be worn on your shoes, otherwise the timekeeping cannot be guaranteed. Distribution of rented chips takes place along with the race documentation – these chips are to be returned behind the finishing-line by 3 pm on the day of the race. Those choosing to keep their chips will be deem to have bought them and charged EUR 25,00 by direct debit.
Runners using their own chips are asked to check if the correct chip number has been registered at the distribution of the race documents.
For relays: Individual times will not be taken; only the total time of each team. The chip must be worn on the shoes of the Finisher.
Start
The start will be at the Olympischer Platz and the finish in Berlin’s Olympic Stadium, 10 am.
Please arrive in good at the start and use public transportation as there are only limited parking spaces available. The Olympic Stadium is open from 8am; entry is via the Osttor (East gate with the Olympic rings).
The 25k, Half Marathon, 10k and 5x5k relay races will be started together at 10am on the Olympischer Platz!
The starting area is divided by fences into starting blocks B1 to B4. Entry is allowed at 9am at the earliest. Zones are allotted according to the runners’ personal bests and entry to the zones will be controlled by race officials. The starting block is shown on the race-number. The race-number is not transferable; is to be worn clearly visible on the chest and is not to be tampered with in any way.
There will be toilets, showers and places to hand-in your clothes bags around the starting area. The clothes bag should be marked with the label that is attached to your race number.
No responsibility for lost clothes or bags will be accepted by the organisers.
Child’s run: the 2,5k run begins at 10.10am on the 6th May 2012 on the Olympischer Platz – it finishes in the Olympic Stadium.
Arrival
To arrive at the Berlin läuft-Expo we recommend you to use the pubic transport:
By S-Bahn: S3, S5, S7, S75 to Zoologischer Garten – 3 minutes to walk to Karstadt
By Underground: U2 and U9 to Zoologischer Garten – 3 minutes to walk to Karstadt
To arrive at the Olympic stadium we recommend you to use the public transport:
From the center to the Olympic Stadium by
Underground, U2 direction Ruhleben – 5 minutes to walk to the Olympischer Platz
S-Bahn, S 5 direction Spandau – 5 minutes to walk to the Olympischer Platz
Route
Each kilometre of the route is clearly signposted.
Refreshment stations are arranged at 5, 10, 15 and 20 kilometres. These are 100 to 150 metres long with plenty of space for everyone – please chose an empty table to avoid queuing. Water will be on offer. Please throw the empty cups into the nets on the roadside.
Toilets are positioned at kilometres 5, 10, 15 and 20. If you need medical assistance, please, if possible, try to reach the next refreshment point, where qualified assistance will be available.
Time limit to accomplish the race for 25k: 3h 15min and for 10k: 1h 30min.
Anyone not reaching 12,5k within the time zone of 95 min after the start you are kindly asked to end the race. These runners will be brought by bus to the Olympic Stadium.
Please note that the entrainment of buggies is not permissible.
Relay
The first runner of a relay starts from starting block B1. The race-number is valide as ticket for the public transportation for the zones A + B on race day.
Each runner is individually responsible for getting to her/his hand-over zone.

Close to the refreshment stations there will be toilets.
Each participant receives a clothes' bag which should be marked in the appropriate field with your starting number and with your team position (1 to 5). Please ensure that the number on the clothes back corresponds exactly to the number on your starting-number.
Please ensure that you wear the starting number on race-day and that it is in no way altered or tampered with. A transfer or exchange of numbers after the team has been confirmed is not permissible. The relay ‘baton’ will be a ribbon, which is included in the race documents. The ribbon is to be worn over your running-vest and to be passed on to be worn by the next member of your relay-team.
Transport of the clothes-bags will be provided by the organisers with specially marked cars. The cars will drive from your starting point to the next hand-over zone (the end of your stretch). Please give your clothes-bag (the number on which must correspond to the number on your bib) only to a car which is marked with the number of your position in the team. At the end of your stretch you can reclaim the clothes-bag and return to the Olympic Stadium by public transport. Please note the departure times of the cars (see the transport timetable).

Finish
After the finishing-line each participant receives its finisher’s medal. The last runner of a relay receives the medals for the whole team.
If you wish and for a small fee, the medal can be engraved. Rented chips must be returned up until 3pm at the appropriately signposted stands.
Chip returns are only possible on race-day. To avoid congestion, runners are requested not to return to the finishing area but to leave this as quickly as possible into to the participants' area where you can enjoy refreshments (apples, water, beer).
Please remember to collect your clothes bag from the collection point – this is possible until 3pm.
Changing-rooms, showers and toilets are all available at the participants' area and are signposted. Please take care of all your personal belongings and valuables (including your time-chip).
Results
Results and certificates are available approximately 2 hours after the event at our website www.berlin-runs.com.
Finisher-Shirts
Finisher-Shirts can be ordered with your registration for EUR 20,00 and will be handed out together with your race documents. In addition, those shirts will be on sale at the start area at the South Gate (Südtor) (while stocks last).
